Proud to represent the North American Chilean Chamber of Commerce at WEF NY 2026. Thank you to the New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce for hosting such an inspiring event.
I moderated an exceptional group of panelists:
Michelle Morazán
Dr. Tammy Pate
Maria Osorio
Dra. María Elena Esparza Guevara
Imagine, it’s the final panel of the morning – the 6th of 6. The room is full of ideas, insights, and momentum. And the pressure is on to keep the crowd engaged. As a moderator, you have to:
- Keep it moving
- Stay on time
- Make sure that no one feels rushed and that every voice is heard
The goal is to honor each perspective while moving the conversation forward. To moderate effectively, we recommend you:
- Lean into listening skills – really listen
- Play back some of what you hear and find the bridge from one panelist to the next
- Bring the audience into it – ask a question or for a reaction
- Encourage applause
Each panelist shared their perspectives and created a cohesive experience for the audience. And what did I take away about policy and advocacy?
Whether you are taking it to the streets of México like Dr. María Elena Esparza Guevara, or working within institutions like Dr. Tammy Pate, change requires more than good ideas. And as Michelle Morazán and Maria Osorio reinforced, it takes skill to move those ideas through systems and into action.
They were the sixth panel of the morning and impressed us all with their:
- Confidence and conviction
- Energy and humility
- Patience, persistence, and perseverance
At Contribute, we help leaders communicate in a way that moves people and moves ideas forward. Many thanks to Columbia University for providing the beautiful space for this year’s forum and to Quenia Abreu for bringing this event to fruition.
